‘La Aldea de San Nicolás’ is located in the southwest of Gran Canaria. The capital city of the municipality is called ‘La Aldea de San Nicolás de Tolentino’ but it’s better known as ‘La Aldea’. The most famous festival of this town is The Charco’s party (‘La fiesta del Charco). Even the oldest texts tell us about the party; it is related with sea’s strength. Every 11th September , ‘El Charco de La Aldea’ makes another party that happens in the fantastic beach of the town.
There, before the major throws up the rocket, people bring together in a big circle, hugging the pool. There are thousands of people that wear traditional dresses and every year there is more people.
